I have nine characters. Ten soon-ish, still saving for that PvP slot.
I like to have many characters to help fill different roles in groups. I also like to have diversity in my family to the role-playing nature of the game.

2 accounts with 6 on one and 13 on my main. 3 total mules one pVp slot. 1 title farmer and one pre-sear resident. I have all these because I wanted to learn the game from every aspect. Got 4000+ hours logged and I still learn something new every day. You can check out my characters by clicking my signature. Plus I can help out with whatever role was needed.

24 altogether - 12 on each account
9 have completed campaigns - 4 all three, 3 two and 2 one.
Another 6 are working on campaigns (some more actively than others).
The rest are mules - prob going to need to add a couple more soon, if I don't clear out some inventory.
When I'm just playing to play - helping PUGs, farming, etc - I play my nec the most, then ranger, rit and warrior.

15 on my main account; my secondary account is a mule account of 4 characters. So 19 total.
- 10 PvE, one of each class at lv20, 2 more at lower levels
- 6 mules
- 1 PvP slot
My main is my necromancer, but I want to play everything... so I have everything.

4 on the first account.
10 on my main account.
Main account gets all the play.
And out of those 10 - I pretty much play 3 guys only these days - the necro, the warrior and the paragon.
I keep the rest IF I feel like doing something different BUT mostly as storage.
I do take them out for a spin every month though!
(But once their chests turn to purple - they can be easily replaced. Which they do get ...)

I have 6 total. I mostly play my Mesmer, and also created a female one because I love them that much.
I have an Elementalist (female), Ritualist (male) and 55 farming monk (male). My pre searing character (because I HAD to make one) is a male ranger.
Mostly though I'm a Mesmer player. I like Ritualists when I'm in the mood to play a healer/support type. I have to say this is the first game where I actually do fully play a certain character, I usually have trouble staying focused on one.

I like working on multiple things at a time.
I like being able to do ritualist stuff, then jump on my dervish, then jump on my warrior and do PvP, then jump on my monk and 55.
Im a multi-slacker. What can I say?

Five, representing the ten professions (in either a primary or secondary).
I play each one exclusively (i.e. one character solely during one campaign before I touch another), which (1) avoids becoming ADHD in dealing with multiple characters/playstyles and (2) keeps things fresh.

11 slots
10 pve chars, all professions and 9 of those have elite armor.
my last slot is for a pvp or pre toon.
My mesmer and ranger are the least played, like them but not that much as my other 8 toons.

Nine. All but an assassin. Thanks to Anet's brilliant storage system, as well as titles not being global, seven are now just storage mules. My monk sees the most play, as she is my favorite. She also had the greatest head start on titles back when they first appeared. My rit is my survivor and I also really enjoy her.
Seems they're the only two I play anymore, as I am NOT buying more slots for storage mules, since that is an annoying and clunky solution to storage issues.

1 account
10 Characters, one of each profession
1 Main w/titles (Necro)
1 is my eventual Survivor (Paragon)
1 is my eventual LDOA (Mesmer)
All other characters get played off and on, some for farming (Monk and Ele, mostly), some because I enjoy the profession (Rit and Sin, especially, although I have fun playing them all), and anything not getting play is earning their keep as a mule. Soon, I'll probably pick up one more slot...for PvP needs/disposable characters made for the sake of potential lulz...but after that I'm done.
